Get Traffic to Your Site Fast

When you first start a new site there's a feeling of elation seeing that last bit of code go in, admiring all the graphics, finding all the links working and actually seeing it on the internet for the first time. You're eager to get going, you're eager to have visitors, all your friends and family love it and .....boom, a week later you're wondering "Where's the traffic?" What a let down after the painstaking research, all the meta tag design, the search engine submissions, not to mention the costs you've incurred. I know, I've been through it more than once.

Until those robots and crawlers get around to your site, you are invisible on the internet. Even after they have visited you may still be invisible because of the arbitrary placement you get on results pages. Well fear not; after your site has been running for a while you'll move up the rankings. Follow all the good advice there is about submissions and marketing and you'll make it.

"But I want traffic today" you say. We all do. One of the simplest ways to do that is to buy advertising. Both Google and GoTo have pretty good programs that are affordable. You could also try some of the paid or free banner ad programs out there. The third way is to get into a pay-per-click search engine. This does not have to cost you a lot of money. Some of them start as low as 1 cent a click. So what if your number 55 on the list, you've established a valuable link to boost your link popularity. If you really want to get into it, some of the lesser known keywords can put you in the number one position for a couple of cents.
